TASK 4: Creating a TED Talk/Speech
TED Talks and YouTube videos of speeches have become an incredibly popular way for people to spread inspirational and though-provoking ideas to audiences throughout the world. According to philpresents.wordpress.com, a great TED Talk or speech has the following characteristics:
- It must be SIMPLE! Tell your audience about what you want to accomplish. Say things like "After my presentation, my audience will..."
- It must be CLEAR! Remove unnecessary noise and visuals. Use repetition to ensure that your message is clear...repeat your point at least three times.
- It must be original! Do and say things that have never been said before. Dare to be different!
- It must be relevant! Your talk should communicate ideas that are WORTH SPREADING! At the end of your talk, your audience should be moved to take action!
- It must be enjoyable! Capture the attention of your audience by saying something BIG at the beginning. Feel free to use humor and your own personality to make your talk memorable!
